Funding
Two schemes are commonly available to help fund solar panels, battery storage and heat pumps for Scottish homes. What you might qualify for is confirmed at the property visit.
Home Energy Scotland Grant and Loan
A grant of up to £7,500 towards a heat pump (rising to £9,000 in rural and island areas), plus access to an interest-free loan of up to £7,500. Insulation measures can receive a 75% grant up to £7,500. There is no means test — eligibility isn't based on income or benefits.
This route is homeowner-led: Caledonia Energy can't apply on your behalf, but your installer explains the process and you apply directly.
ECO4
Can fully fund qualifying upgrades for households on certain benefits or with low incomes, in less efficient homes. The scheme has been extended to 31 December 2026.
This route is installer-led: the property visit itself is typically how an application under ECO4 gets started.
Funding is subject to eligibility, property suitability, scheme rules and availability. We do not guarantee that an applicant will qualify. Eligibility for either scheme — including your EPC rating, benefits status and property type — is confirmed as part of your enquiry and the installer visit.

For eligible households under ECO4, upgrades can be fully funded — but eligibility depends on benefits status, EPC rating and circumstances, and not every property or applicant will qualify. We won't promise a free installation before eligibility is confirmed.
